About Us

IT West was founded in August 1997 by Peter Vane to provide basic PC maintenance The business grew slowly for the first couple of years and concentrated on third party maintenance work. In 2002 the company began to make strides offering turn-key, full featured computer and network service to small and medium sized businesses.  The business was now hitting the mark with some great customers, nearly all of whom continue to work with us to this day. 
Since then the company has grown dramatically, averaging 60% revenue growth per year.  The years of 2008 and 2009 have been "break out" years for the company, with the addition of more technical talent, a comprehensive managed services program, a first-class service and work order management system, and for the first time, a concerted strategy to add new customers and retain existing ones. 
The company continues to grow and expand, but we have remained 100% customer focused during our growth.  Even as we have added new technology and talent, customer satisfaction is at an all-time high.  We're more responsive than ever, and customers rave about us to their friends and colleagues.

About Peter Vane

Peter Vane is the founder and Managing Director of IT West.  He is a Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA A+ Certified, and CompTIA Network+ Certified.  He holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Technology Sydney. He also has a Bachelor of Economics Degree from the University of New England and a Graduate Diploma in IT from Charles Sturt University. He is currently working toward a Masters Degree in IT with CSU. Peter attended Dubbo High School. Peter's career spans nearly 25 years, including positions at both small and larger companies.  Prior to founding IT West, he was the Technical Services Manager for an electricity provider in regional NSW with over 150 staff under his supervision. He also spent a long period of time providing management training and development in the Central Western area for Leadership Management Australia. During this time he gained a strong understanding of what is necessary to make a small business successful and he has been able to use this knowledge to make his own business successful and help his clients
